NEIJSS trains junior athletes for domestic and international shotgun competitions sanctioned by USA Shooting (USAS), the national governing body for Olympic Shooting Sports in the United States, and the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF), the international governing body for Olympic Shooting Sports.

NEIJSS recruits new junior athletes interested in clay target shooting sports, then trains and prepares them for domestic USAS sanctioned competitions, ISSF sanctioned competitions, the ISSF World Cup, the Olympics and other competitions. The organization also collaborates with collegiate clay target shooting programs working with coaches and amateur athletes from Harvard College, Harvard University Law School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University and Tufts University.

In order to facilitate these activities, NEIJSS plans to construct an Olympic Bunker on leased property in accordance with USAS Certified Training Center standards. NEIJSS is working to become a certified USA Shooting Certified Training Center so the organization can offer more training for New England athletes that want to compete at the highest levels of amateur clay target shooting sports.
